Hop on the Eurostar to Paris and set sail down the Seine for a sightseeing tour of the French capital! This is a fabulous day trip from London across the Channel to visit the impossibly romantic city of Paris. What’s not to love about this Gallic voyage? As you Eurostar train pulls out of St Pancras station in just over two hours’ time you’ll be saying bonjour to Paris’s Gare du Nord. From here you’ll head to the Rive Gauche of the River Seine and right at the foot of the Eiffel Tower your sightseeing boat will be waiting for you This Paris boat company has been operating tours and dining cruises on the river since 1956 catering for over 3.5 million passengers a year. Now with the rapidity of Eurostar you can easily ‘do’ Paris by boat in just a day. We are offering either a sightseeing tour or a luncheon cruise to complete your Parisian sojourn. If you opt for just the tour there are regular half-hourly departures throughout the day. The voyage takes around an hour and you will be gently cruising down and up the Seine so you can see all the main sights on both the left and right banks. There are 12 different vessels in the fleet and all vary slightly but fab views are par for the course with each of them. Those who fancy hopping off Eurostar and straight to a Parisian lunch date will be spoilt rotten with our tour and luncheon package. As soon as you’re seated it’s aperitif time and you’ll be served a white wine kir as as prelude to your lovely three course meal. And yes it’s just as you’d expect – traditional French cuisine all freshly prepared onboard by talented chefs using in-season produce with meticulous presentation. And as for the view from these all-glass boats it is simply breathtaking. As you head off from the port at the Eiffel Tower you head past Les Invalides L’Assemblee Nationale the Orsay museum and the Institut de France. On the lunch departure you will enjoy an extended itinerary that includes the French national library before heading back down stream past the Ile St Louis and the Ile de la Cite home to the famous Notre Dame (and it’s hunchback!). Carrying on past by the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde it’s back to your original departure for city tourers whilst luncheon cruisers continue right to the Statue of Liberty on the Ile aux Cygnes before heading back to the original point of departure at the Port de la Bourdonnais. Your visit to Paris isn’t over yet though as you have a couple of hours before catching the return Eurostar back to London. With a fleet of fast modern trains and a stunning station at St Pancras you’ll have all of the sightseeing fun and none of the usual stress of international travel when you take Eurostar to Paris. Quite frankly this is a wonderful gift we wish someone would buy for us!
