Bloomsbury Afternoon Tea for Two

Relax on the delightful Dalloway Terrace and while away some time with a wonderful Bloomsbury Afternoon Tea! It’s four star service all the way at this luxury London hotel with the all-year terrace garden being a oasis of calm greenery and gorgeousness. Perfect for that unforgettable afternoon tea experience in Bloomsbury. What we love about this place is that it is a lovely example of understated luxury. The imposing red brick building with neat white sash windows is just a hop away from the British Museum in the Bloomsbury district. Afternoon tea is taken at the Dalloway Terrace named after Clarissa Dalloway a character from Virginia Woolf’™s book ‘˜Mrs Dalloway’™ and modelled on an English garden with foliage adorning the walls colourful plants and lovely lanterns that twinkle. The Bloomsbury has something that many hotels in the capital strive to have but that many fail miserably at – that warm home from home feeling. Even when you are just taking afternoon tea at the Bloomsbury you will probably get to know the names of some of the staff and have a little chat – it’s that sort of place. You will be led through the Dalloway Lounge and onto the terrace where a melange of comfy cushioned chairs and cosy tables are arranged around the room in such a way that you feel like you have been invited to a private garden party to take afternoon tea with the Dowager at her Bloomsbury residence! And then there’s the food. It’s just as you’d expect an afternoon tea to be but with a Bloomsbury Hotel twist. The chef team makes sure that fresh seasonal products are used so in the summer months you might be treated to fresh fruit tartlets and in the winter you could well be sampling their fine festive fruit cake. Even the tiered cakes stands are in an unusual and rather Art Deco style that definitely catches the eye. Of course the Bloomsbury doesn’t scrimp on that other afternoon tea essential – the drinks! There are currently an impressive 15 types of tealeaves offered along with fresh ground and brewed coffees hot chocolate and even freshly squeezed smoothies from the in-house juice bar (a little nod to modern in this neo-classical hotel!). And word has it you’ll be able to sip as much tea as you can drink. With outdoor space scare for hotels in central London the Bloomsbury’™s afternoon tea on the garden terrace – is a rarity in central London especially one this sunny and quiet. We know you will love the warm and gracious ‘old fashioned’ service at this Doyle Collection hotel and we can think of nothing better than a morning exploring London and then settling down to a fine Bloomsbury afternoon tea for two on the beautifully designed all-weather terrace.
